Recommend Us Blog: Long Time No See

Yes, Yes I know, every week I said I'd update the blog... We HAVE been really busy behind the scenes here at Recommend Us. We've now got the Recommend Us van driving around in Albox and the surrounding areas. It looks really good, but this isn't the reason for a delay in the blog update. We have now got the Clickboard launched. The clickboard is designed to let businesses display for a whole year their latest deals, offers and forthcoming events, without the necessity for a search - it's all there in one place and has a direct link from the front page. But this isn't the reason for a delay to the update... The reason for the delay in updating the blog is that we have been working out ways to expand the site to the whole of Spain and make this the number one search engine for Spain. We currently have a few members from outside the Almeria area, but we want to expand this to focus promotion in specific areas and as we are not based in these areas it is proving difficult. Our solution is to offer specific areas to self-driven Business Promoters to promote the site and sell advertising space on the site. This will require an initial outlay on their part, but we are currently looking at a minimum of a 250% return on investment within the first year using the current statistics the site is returning. The reason for the initial outlay is to put off timewasters who want to earn money watching Jeremy Kyle. If you would like more information on this, a new Business Opportunities page will be appearing on the site in the next few hours. This isn't the only reason for the delay. We've also been working on a new payment system that we are certain will prove to be more cost-effective for advertisers. We have setup a plan for the future which we are hoping to have in place to launch on the 1st August 2009 and we hope it will aid everyone in promoting their businesses in a more cost-effective manner, whilst not being expensive. This is all part and parcel of the new Business Opportunities system and are doing this to promote local businesses nationally. One last thing we have been working on is the new Spanish version of the site. This was initially scheduled to launch shortly after the English version, but as there are only 20 hours in a day in Spain, time has got the better of us and we have only just got round to it. The two languages will be linked and current members will be able to advertise their business on the Spanish site as well as the English with minimum fuss (including a Google Translate facility for those who have problems with the Spanish). This we are hoping to launch shortly and will email all members with the details shortly before the launch. This site will be in Spanish aimed directly at the Spanish consumers, hopefully enhancing the popularity of English businesses with the Spanish nationals.
